The Arizona Gym Rats Basketball Club was founded and developed by Jeff de Laveaga "Coach de", a former professional basketball player. Coach De's goal was to develop a Club Basketball program where a few select, talented players will have the opportunity to learn from his experience and knowledge. What he didn't expect was the amount of attention and desire the young Arizona athletes who wanted to play for this growing, very successful Club have shown him in such a short period of time.

The Arizona Gym Rats are ranked one of the TOP-10 AAU CLUBS NATIONALLY and have won AAU State Championships for six consecutive years (2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009) at all levels. The Gym Rats win 99% of their games each year and since 2003 have won multiple AAU State and National Tournament Championships as well as almost every tournament they play in, whether in or out-of-state.

Coach de has assembled some of the finest coaches youth basketball has ever seen. All of his coaches have either played professional basketball or played major college basketball. Though all Gym Rats teams play with the same philosophy, each coach has their unique style to motivate, challenge and get the most out of our players so that they eventually reach their full potential.
